JOB SUMMARY

You will be the point person and on the ground representative for Fin’s Commercials interests in the U.S. market and will be an essential part of Fin’s global operations

Your primary role will be to attract new business and build long standing relationships with Agencies, Production Companies, Directors and Clients. You will also be asked to do a variety of other tasks consistent with the role of a Senior VFX Producer so you should expect to wear many hats.

Fin’s main offices are located in Australia which means you will be working closely with the production teams and artists there on a regular basis. This setup, coupled with working with the clients across the U.S. means you may need to be somewhat flexible with your hours, but should generally expect a standard 9am PT - 6pm PT workday.

It’s also important to note that the flexibility goes both ways and we are happy to offer the right candidate the ability to work remotely and work around other personal weekly commitments.

YOU WILL BE…

THE FACE OF FIN IN THE U.S.

  • Fin’s head office is in Sydney, Australia, but you will be the main point of contact for all of Fin’s commercial projects coming out of the U.S. market.
  • You will work closely with Fin’s Head of Commercials who is based in Australia, on a regular basis to make sure Fin’s production service integrity is maintained.

WORKING ON NEW BUSINESS

  • Previous relationships with agencies, producers, directors and clients is a must.
  • You will work with the Head of Commercials and our Sales Reps in each territory to capitalize on new leads.
  • You should be attending events like the AICP and Shots Awards and other industry functions.
  • A strong understanding of Fin’s historical work will be developed with time.
  • You will be involved in PR around new work.
  • The industry is in a constant state of flux, but you should be always be on the lookout for opportunities to smartly grow and expand the Fin’s U.S. business operations.
  • You may be required to create Showreels using Simian

A BIDDING PRODUCER

  • You will work with the Head of Commercials, our VFX Supervisors and VFX Producers to create bids for new jobs in the U.S. market.
  • As such, you should have a strong understanding of the Visual Effects process and pipeline so that you can do a first pass of a bid from scratch.
  • You should be able to confidently negotiate bids with clients.

A VFX PRODUCER

Even though the majority of our U.S. jobs are run out of our Sydney office and are supported by the local production team there, you will often need to handle some of the more day-to-day responsibilities of a VFX producer. These could include:

  • Scheduling and running client review sessions to ensure feedback is incorporated effectively and timelines are met.
  • Attending key client and industry events as required, fostering relationships that are crucial to project success and the role of a TVC Producer.
  • Writing detailed summary notes from calls and meetings, ensuring all action points and feedback are clearly documented for internal and external teams.
  • Posting review links on Frame IO for client access and approval, maintaining organized and timely updates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Uploading final assets to platforms like Extreme Reach, ensuring all files meet the necessary specifications.
  • Performing thorough QC (Quality Control) checks on files to ensure they meet the highest standards before delivery.
  • Creating Quicktime files using tools such as Compressor or Media Encoder, ensuring efficient file conversion and distribution.
  • Sending invoices to clients promptly and processing freelancer invoices in coordination with the Fin Accounts team, ensuring smooth financial operations.
  • Managing short-term, U.S.-based projects that may involve working with local freelance artists, with a focus on online and finishing jobs.
  • Handling day-to-day operations of these projects independently, or with the support of a freelance VFX producer, ensuring smooth delivery within tight deadlines and client expectations.

WE WANT YOU TO BE…

  • LA Based. While the majority of the job can be done remotely, we need you to be on the West Coast due to time zones and for other in person responsibilities.
  • Armed with a substantial amount of Commercials VFX experience.
  • Willing to Travel. Sometimes you will need to go to Industry events or Shoots.
  • Someone who has relationships with VFX Artists and VFX Producers.

CONTRACT TERMS

Your working hours will range from 8 to 40 per week on a pro-rata basis at an agreed-upon hourly rate. Hours will be coordinated and approved by the TVC Executive Producer, based on your weekly activities and tasks. This role has the potential to evolve into a full-time position, depending on the department’s success and your growth within the team
